Kells U16s Martin O`Neil all set for the European Nations Cup
Friday 7th August 2009

The RFL has named the England Youth Squad which will take part in the forthcoming European Nations Cup in Serbia alongside France, Wales, Serbia, Scotland, Russia and a European Celts side.

England will depart for Serbia on August 17 and face Wales on Tuesday August 18 before coming up against France on Saturday August 22 with all of the competition’s games being played at sports facilities near Lake Ada Ciganlija.

Barrie-Jon Mather, the RFL’s Head of Player Development said: “This tournament presents an invaluable opportunity for the players that have been selected to experience international Rugby League in a foreign environment.

“The squad are looking forward to the challenge presented by the sides competing in the European Nations Cup and I’m sure it will prove useful for their development.”

The side will be coached by RFL National Player Development Manager Chris Chapman who will be assisted by Wakefield’s Richard Tunningley and the squad comprises 15 players who featured against Wales last year as well as five new members.
